Casey Meraz is the is a local search marketing guru. He is currently writing a local SEO book which is due out in early 2012. Casey is heavily involved in local SEO research and runs a local SEO Blog.  In his spare time he enjoys traveling, boating, and trying new things.

I first became involved with computers at about 10 years old.  I got my start building my first websites with applications such as Microsoft Front Page and Macromedia Dreamweaver. In high school I was selected to a special program where I helped manage the school’s website and this is where my love of the internet developed. However it wasn’t until 2005 when I first got into SEO by accident. I started with no formal training but was able to figure out the very basics to get some of my websites rankings.  Over time I grew into forums and started to collaborate with industry experts to learn more about what I was doing.

In 2007 I started working at Intuit where I developed their search engine marketing program for small business owners and launched the product. After starting this project from the ground up I became more heavily involved in organic search and pay per click.

In 2010 I trained with Bruce Clay at his SEO Toolset Training course which helped me learn the nuts and bolts on a more ethical and advanced level.  After successfully completing the courses I was also able to attend SMX East 2011 which was my first industry conference.

For the last couple of years, I’ve had an amazing opportunity to start and build up my company, Ethical SEO Consulting to become a prominent force in the local and organic marketing venues. I currently speak at monthly seminars for the Colorado Local Internet Marketing for Businesses’s group and also have some seminars planned at the University of Denver. After retuning from Mozcon 2012, I’m working on scaling Ethical SEO Consulting as well as trying to improve our efforts to become a prominent player worldwide.

When I’m not behind a desk I enjoy traveling to new places, having new experiences, playing airsoft, or trolling internet marketing forums. I am heavily vested in the success of the American economy and am committed to creating more American Jobs and motivating others to follow their dreams.
