The same advice everyone gets

Walk into almost any marketing agency and you will hear the same prescription. Publish more content. Build more links. Post more on social. Do more of what the firm down the street is doing. None of it is wrong, exactly. It is just incomplete. On its own it makes you a slightly louder version of everyone else.

Sameness does not get remembered. It does not get chosen. And it certainly does not build a firm that stands apart from the pack.

I have never met two firm owners with the same ambition. One wants to dominate a single city. One wants to build something they can sell. One wants the freedom to step back from the day to day. One wants to be the name everyone in the market reacts to.

What most firms miss

Strategy. That is the part almost everyone skips. Firms jump straight to producing content and chasing links because it feels like progress. But activity is not strategy.
